Wearing and Playing
Another World Costumes are made for real play. They are comfortable, flexible and designed to move with children as they explore, create characters and tell stories.
We recommend dressing up over soft everyday clothes where possible, especially for outdoor play, to help protect delicate fabrics and embellishments.

Washing
Where possible, gentle care is best.
- Hand wash in cool water using a mild detergent
- Wash colours separately
- Avoid soaking for long periods
- Do not tumble dry
- Reshape gently while damp and allow to air dry naturally
If you choose to machine wash, use a delicate cycle at a low temperature and place the costume inside a laundry bag.
Stains and Marks
Play can get messy and that’s part of the fun.
- Treat stains as soon as possible
- Dab gently rather than rubbing
- Avoid harsh stain removers or bleach as these can damage fabrics and trims
Ironing
Most costumes will not need ironing if dried carefully.
- If required, use a low heat setting
- Iron on the reverse side
- Avoid direct heat on trims, embellishments or printed areas
Storage
To keep costumes looking their best between adventures:
- Store in a cool, dry place
- Hang where possible or fold carefully
- Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent fading
Storing pieces together can make it easier for children to return to their favourite characters during play.
Handmade
Each costume is handmade, which means small variations are part of what makes each piece special. Fabrics, trims and finishes are chosen for both beauty and durability, but gentle handling will always extend the life of the garment.
