Halloween Scavenger Hunt

Halloween Scavenger Hunt

Halloween isn’t just about sweets and treats, it's also about adventure!

Whether your little ones are heading out trick-or-treating or going on a fun twilight neighbourhood walk, this Halloween Scavenger Hunt will help turn the evening into a magical mini-adventure.

Why not make a paper plate trick-or-treat bag too? I've got you covered for a fun Halloween evening out!

Let's go on a Halloween Scavenger Hunt!

You will need:

  • printer
  • A4 paper
  • scavenger hunt download
  • clipboard or glue the scavenger hunt on to cardboard
  • pens/colouring pencils

I've created 2 versions of the Halloween scavenger hunt. Both versions have 15 boxes with the name of the item to spot inside each box, for example, 'pumpkin', 'black cat' and 'broomstick'.

In the first version, I've included outline drawings of each item. This will help younger children who can't yet read and also creates a fun colouring-in activity. I've also included a small circle at the top of each box for children to tick as they spot each one.

In the second version, I've left the boxes blank for children who may prefer to draw the items themselves as they spot them.

It's a good idea to attach the scavenger hunt to a clipboard or if you don't have one, stick it to some cardboard. This makes it easy to hold and draw on.

Trick-or-Treat Safety Tips

Be Bright

Add reflective tape or glow-in-the-dark accessories to costumes or treat bags. Even a simple LED bracelet or glow stick makes a big difference!

Be Warm and Comfortable

Check the weather forecast beforehand for warm and/or waterproof coats and suitable footwear. Wear comfy shoes and avoid long trailing hems to prevent tripping.

Masks

If your child loves masks, make sure they can see clearly — or swap for gentle, non-toxic face paint for better visibility.

Stay Together

Encourage little ones to walk in groups with grown-ups, and carry a small torch or lantern for added excitement (and safety!).
